This specimen was lot 31325 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $5,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "Philip V gold Cob Escudo 1731 Mo-F XF45 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM 51.2, Cal-Type 110 (Unlisted Date). 16 mm/3.3 g. A very rare late cob issue of Philip V, struck off-center on the obverse to the benefit of collectors, with an amazing full date that is entirely bold and takes focal prominence on the surfaces. The reverse, somewhat atypically, displays extremely broad doubling of the cross design. With their faint reddish toning accents, the surfaces certainly appear choice for the assigned grade. Selections from the Isaac Rudman Numismatic Cabinet."
