This specimen was lot 31268 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $10,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles & Johanna "Early Series" 2 Reales ND (1536-42) ·M·-·F/P· AU53 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM0011, Cal-110, Nesmith-15. 27 mm/6.8 g. Graphite-gray colored with a bold strike, minimal doubling in the design and legends that are nearly complete. Extremely rare and a key to the series, this issue, carrying the 'F' assayer initial, is thought to have been struck for only a few months, with less than 10 examples known, several of which reside in institutional collections. Of those, this is the finest example we have seen. Selections from the Isaac Rudman Numismatic Cabinet."

Cayon-3100, 1536-38.
