This specimen was lot 31261 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $3,720. The catalog description[1] noted, "Very Desirable Transposed Shield Variety. Charles & Johanna "Early Series" Real ND (1536-42) oPo-oMo VF20 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM0007, Cal-152, Nesmith-24d/19. 22.5 mm. Lion and Castles Transposed. Pairing muled Nesmith real varieties, this rarity is extremely desirable for the transposition error in the shield, which displays a lion in the top left quadrant instead of the standard castle. Lightly cleaned at one time, but remaining quite pleasing, with delicate tone on both sides and an admirable strike. An absolute treasure for the specialist. Selections from the Isaac Rudman Numismatic Cabinet."
