This specimen was lot 31381 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "Ferdinand VII gold Escudo 1818 Mo-JJ AU Details (Obverse Scratched) NGC, Mexico City mint, KM 122, Cal-303. A flashy selection with stunning, bright golden fields and design elements that hold just a hint of friction. An obverse scratch accounts for the details grade, but does not wholly detract from the appeal of this piece. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins."
