This specimen was lot 31360 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1784/3 Mo-FM/F VF35 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM156.2, Onza-781. Wholesome and pleasant for the assigned grade with even wear and no distracting flaws. A decent example of this very scarce overdate variety, usually found in lower preservation, this being the only example currently listed in NGC's census. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins."
