This specimen was lot 31268 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $646.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles IV gold Escudo 1790 Mo-FM XF Details (Plugged, Cleaned) NGC, Mexico City mint, KM 119, Cal-503. Holed and plugged through the "7" numeral in the date with cleaning evidence on the fields, though still retaining sharp details. An affordable and well-pedigreed example of this rare coin, of which less than 12 have been confirmed by the cataloguer, the finest being the ex- Caballero de las Yndias example (Aureo 4/2009, lot 408). From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins."
