This specimen was lot 31199 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $1,116.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles III gold 2 Escudos 1787 Mo-FM AU55 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM 130.2a, Cal-491. Choice for the designation with strong remaining mint bloom, light high-point wear and handsome old patina covering non-offensive contact marks. A most attractive type coin and a much scarcer date, missing in Norweb, Gerber and Eliasberg. Decidedly rare in this charming quality. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins."
