This specimen was lot 31176 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $1,645. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles III gold 2 Escudos 1764/3 Mo-MF VF30 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM 129, cf. Cal-465 (unlisted overdate). A problem-free coin with good detail remaining and attractive old patina, thus a decent example of this very rare date, with an excellent pedigree to boot. One of only four examples noted by the cataloguer, and the only piece currently listed in NGC's census. Ex. Norweb Collection (Christie's Dallas 5/1985, lot 85) though acquired later by Mr. Rudman by private treaty. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins."
