This specimen was lot 31159 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $376. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles III gold Escudo 1781 Mo-FF/M AU Details (Obverse Scratched) NGC, Mexico City mint, KM 118.2, cf. Cal-659 (unlisted overassayer). Despite light obverse scratches, this is a well-detailed example of this typically crude type with pleasing russet toning highlights. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins."
