This specimen was lot 31034 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $5,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "Philip V gold 2 Escudos 1743/2 Mo-MF AU58 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM 124, cf. Cal-369 (unlisted overdate). A gorgeous coin, bordering on Uncirculated, with highly lustrous surfaces and very mild high-point friction. The clear overdate is unlisted in both Calico and KM and is probably rarer than the plain date. The date alone is rare and was missing from Norweb, Gerber and Eliasberg. Another superb type coin for this elusive series, virtually unobtainable in this quality. From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins."
