This specimen was lot 31022 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $21,150. The catalog description[1] noted, "Philip V gold 2 Escudos 1733/2 Mo-F MS62 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM 124, Cal-357. Brilliant Mint State and attractive for the assigned grade with fully lustrous surfaces and only a few scattered surface contact marks preventing a higher designation. Another extremely rare date for the type, missing in Norweb, Gerber, Eliasberg and in the Banco de Mexico collection. One of only three confirmed examples by the cataloguer, currently the only example certified by NGC and in all probability, the finest extant as a better preserved example would be difficult to envision. Vastly desirable in this select quality, a well-pedigreed little jewel worthy of the most refined cabinet of Spanish Colonial gold. Ex. Caballero de las Yndias Collection (Aureo 4/2009, lot 340 for E14,868), From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins."
