This specimen was lot 29856 in Heritage sale 3040 (Long Beach, April 2015), where it sold for $646.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Metz. City Taler 1628 XF45 PCGS, KM 17, Dav-5580. The first year of this type, this broad and impressive Taler features the the full-length standing figure of the patron state, St. Stephan, holding a palm branch within an elongated oval. With handsome steel-gray patination and moments of brightness throughout, highly appealing as such."
