This specimen was lot 30047 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $15,275. The catalog description[1] noted, "An Exquisite Low-Mintage Proof Issue. Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Adolf Friedrich gold Proof 10 Mark 1905-A PR64 Cameo NGC, Berlin mint, KM 116. Jaeger-239. Mintage: 150. One-year type. A premium-quality example of this very rare issue (1,150 total mintage for proof and business strikes), bright and tone-free over both sides, with a light cameo effect and surfaces that hold a trace of handling, but fewer marks than the near-Gem grade allows. As one might expect given its scant mintage, only two examples have been certified by NGC and PCGS combined, with the present example boasting finest-certified status. A great opportunity thus, and a wonderful chance to own one of the key treasures of the German Empire. From The Kaiser Collection of German Gold Coins."
