This specimen was lot 42493 in Stack's Bowers Winter sale (Baltimore, November 2015), where it sold for $141. The catalog description[1] noted, "MALTA. 30 Tari, 1790. Emmanuel de Rohan (1775-97). NGC AU Details--Mount Removed. Dav-1608; KM-327; Schembri-10; Restelli-Sammut-30. As Grand Master of the Order of Saint John, Emmanuel de Rohan revised the legal code and otherwise brought a degree of enlightenment to the island of Malta. Evidence of mount removal at twelve o'clock on reverse. A few adjustment marks on the obverse, and with a decent portrait. An impressive large silver crown size coin from the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. Pedigree: From the Ray Czahor Collection."
struck 1781, 1785, 1789, 1790. slightly scarcer than other Maltese crowns.
