This specimen was lot 809 in Jean Elsen sale 135 (Brussels, December 2017), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,177 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, LORRAINE, Charles III (1545-1608), AR florin d'argent (demi-écu), 1581, Nancy. D/ B. cuirassé à d, le col fraisé. R/ MONETA NOVA NANCEII CVSA Ecu couronné, entre deux croix de Lorraine couronnées. Flon 647, 97; Saulcy XXII, 1; coll. Robert -; coll. Monnier 368. 16,07 g Très rare Trou de suspension à 12h. Très Beau. (France, duchy of Lorraine, Charles III, 1545-1608, silver florin or half écu of 1581, Nancy mint. Obverse: armored bust to right with ruffed collar; reverse: crowned arms between two crosses of Lorraine. Very rare, holed at top, Very Fine.)"
