This specimen was lot 29861 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Christian Hermann Roth gold 5 Ducats ND (C. 18th Century) AU55 NGC, Kremnitz mint, Fr-563, Huszar-6. A superb specimen with antiqued, golden tone and wonderfully impressive design features. The obverse imagery is quite bold and features St. George slaying the dragon while the reverse motif depicts Christ with two apostles in a boat, weathering a storm. As an aside, these St. George medallic issues from Kremnitz were carried around, so as to bring good luck to the owner and protect him from harm. Highly engaging from all angles, this is a seldom encountered issue, especially in this well-preserved quality."
