This specimen was lot 29822 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,997.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Ferdinand VII gold Escudo 1817 NG-M AU58 NGC, Nueva Guatemala mint, KM74. Choice About Uncirculated with only the slightest friction evidence on the higher points, and retaining considerable mint bloom. This is essentially a one-year type since albeit coins of this denomination were also struck with the 1808 and 1811 dates, none of those specimens have apparently survived. Very scarce and quite desirable in this engaging preservation. From The Santa Maria Collection ."
