This specimen was lot 24443 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $1,527.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Central American Republic gold 2 Escudos 1842 NG-MA, KM 12, Fr-28, AU Details (Plugged) NGC. Well struck coin with little wear but on an uneven planchet. Probably mounted previously rather than plugged as mentioned in the NGC slab. Typical jewelry surfaces particularly visible in the fields on the reverse. Another very rare date, of which the cataloger has confirmed but five examples. Ex. Freeman Craig (8/1977 for $1,800). From The Isaac Rudman Collection of Guatemala Coins."
