This specimen was lot 24441 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $2,115. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Central American Republic gold 2 Escudos 1837 NG-BA, KM 12, Fr-28, VF20 NGC. Well circulated but problem-free with no major flaws. Struck on a concave flan causing the wear to be much higher on the tree side. Another very rare date in this series, acquired at the famous Sotheby's Geneva 1990 sale. That sale consisted of the reserve in gold coins of a Venezuelan bank, and included many discovery pieces for the Latin American gold series, including several previously unknown dates for the Colombian 10 Pesos series.
