This specimen was lot 30731 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $3,818.75. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Carlos IV gold 4 Escudos 1794 NG-M, KM 57, Fr-19, VF Details (Plugged) NGC. A two-year type and a classic rarity in the Spanish Colonial Guatemalan series with extant specimens likely numbering less than 10 and examples, when available, rarely making it to the market. The present coin, despite serious imperfections, does show a fully legible date. For the dedicated collector of the series, it offers a seldom-available opportunity to take one large step towards set completion."
