This specimen was lot 30979 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $5,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "George II Crown 1736 MS63 NGC, KM 575.1, S-3836, ESC-121. The crowns of George II were the last of this denomination to be produced from West Country silver (a provenance denoted by the roses and plumes on the reverse of this example), this source becoming depleted in the mid 18th century and the production of silver coinage altogether slowing to a trickle until the early 19th century. This is a very pleasing and well-struck mint state specimen of this scarce date, with a light russet tone and hints of gold shining through."
