George V Penny 1918-KN, S-4053, KM810, MS65 RB NGC, a great coin for this rare Kings Norton Metal Company date, the color fading brick orange-red but with no brown, the strike fairly sharp (some of the high-point details are the result of die-work, not striking impression), some abrasions but fewer than are normally seen on pennies of this reign, little specks of carbon on reverse but again far fewer than are normal. The important "KN" mint mark is really bold, as is the date. SCBC value for UNC is £1,250 (just about $2,000 even), and this coin should be worth that price. Sold $1,938.75.
