This specimen was lot 24316 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,292.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria Shilling 1838, Young Head, S-3902, KM734.1, MS66 PCGS, a superb coin, fully struck, gleaming with cartwheel luster, its surfaces as original as can be and sheathed in lush bluish golden gray iridescence. As fine as we have seen of this first year of issue, the original artistic conception bearing the engraver's "W.W." initials, raised on the queen's truncation. A great shilling! From The Kairos Collection."
