This specimen was part of lot 23079 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), which sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Maundy Set, 1899. PCGS PL-65 & PL-66 Secure Holders. S-3943; KM-MDS155. 4 pieces in set. Includes: Penny (PCGS PL-66), 2 Pence (PCGS PL-65), 3 Pence (PCGS PL-66), and 4 Pence (PCGS PL-65). From a mintage of only 8,976 pieces. All display deep beautiful old cabinet tone with a plethora of hues. All are sharply struck with flashy proof-like surfaces and frosted devices. A lovely matched set with fantastic eye appeal. Clearly a set which sat for a prolonged period of time undisturbed. PCGS PL-65 (2) & PL-66 (2) Secure Holders."
