This specimen was lot 23104 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Pattern 1/2 Penny, 1799. Ayrshire Mint. George, Prince of Wales as Steward of Scotland. NGC PROOF-65 BN. D&H-5; Forrer-vol. IV pg. 82#3 (for Milton) & vol. II pg. 170 (for Fullerton). RARE. Plain edge. Struck by J. Milton for Colonel Fullerton of Scotland. Exceptional strike details with lovely electric blue highlights over lovely chocolate brown surfaces."
