This specimen was lot 20344 in Ponterio sale 176 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $4,112. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. George IV, 1820-1830. 2 Pounds, 1823. S-3798; Fr-375; KM-690. Bare bust left. Rv. Pistrucci’s classically styled St. George and the Dragon, date below. Lettered edge DECUS ET TUTAMEN ANNO REGNI IV. A very scarce regular issue type with the engraver’s initials below the bust. Beautifully struck with rather brilliant prooflike luster on both sides. A handsome coin all around. NGC MS-63. Ex: Bowers and Ruddy Galleries, 1977."
