This specimen was lot 20197 in Ponterio sale 176 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $10,575. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Charles II, 1660-1685. 5 Guineas, 1668 VICESIMO. Elephant. Rare 1668 5 Guineas S-3329; Fr-282; KM-430.1. First laureate bust right. Rv. Crowned cruciform shields with scepters in angles. An impressive beginning to Mr. Law’s superb selection of milled Five Guineas, easily one of the finest in any American auction sale. Beautiful, natural golden toning over virtually mark-free surfaces. NGC EF-45. Ex: Glendining, 1975."
