This specimen was lot 20421 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Ecu, 1730-T. Nantes Mint. Louis XV (1715-74). PCGS MS-64 Secure Holder. KM-486.2; Gad-321; Dupl-1675. Outstanding quality for the issue, showcasing superb originality in the form of deep tone that is mostly gray and gold in the centers, but incorporates eye-catching shades of green, red, copper and blue around the legends. The addition of a strong strike and no visible planchet adjustments propels this near-Gem to even rarer levels; the single finest graded of the type at PCGS."

Dr/4 no. 819, m. 343,523, fairly common date.
