This specimen was lot 20420 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Ecu, 1729-&. Aix Mint. Louis XV (1715-74). NGC MS-63. Dav-1330; KM-486.27; Gad-321; Dr/5-746; Dupl-1675. Carefully preserved, but a victim of poor standards at the mint, with several planchet voids, adjustment streaks and a few well blended haymarks appearing over the surfaces. Despite all that, still quite attractive with choice tone and a bold and even strike. Tied with one other example for the finest graded at NGC or PCGS."

Dr/4 no. 819, m. 215,439, price TTB+ 450 euro vs. 380 euro for 1729-A, -D, -S, -T, -9.
