This specimen was lot 20369 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Royal d'Or, ND. Jean II Le Bon (1350-64). NGC MS-63. 3.50 gms. Fr-278; Dup-293a. Second emission, from April, 1359. Highly lustrous and well struck with the king's central effigy remaining impressively bold and the surrounding legends showing near complete. VERY SCARCE quality for the type."
