This specimen was lot 20145 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $2,280. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Ecu d'Or, ND (1351). Jean II (Jean Le Bon) (1350-64). PCGS AU-50. Fr-276; Dup-289; Ciani-348. From the third emission (.833 fine gold) of July-September 1351. Decent strike with only a few weak spots near the edge. A light veneer of tone, soft satin luster and good eye appeal."
