This specimen was lot 771 in Jean Elsen sale 132 (Brussels, March 2017), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,153 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"FRANCE, Royaume, Louis XIV (1643-1715), AR écu à la cravate, 1673A, Paris. 1er type. Dit "du Parlement". D/ B. dr. et cuir. à d., portant une perruque, le cordon du Saint-Esprit et une cravate brodée. R/ Ecu de France couronné. Dupl. 1493; Gad-209. 27,19 g Rare Fines griffes. Très Beau à Superbe. (kingdom of France, Louis XIV (1643-1715), silver écu of the necktie of 1673, Paris mint, first type, called "Parliament." Obverse: draped and armored bust to right, wearing a wig, the ribbonof the Order of the Holy Spirit and an embroidered cravat; reverse: crowned arms of France. Rare, fine scratches, very fine to extremely fine.)"
