This specimen was lot 1326 in Jean Elsen sale 141 (Brussels, June 2019), where it sold for €4,200 (about US$5,566 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"FRANCE, Royaume, Louis XIV (1643-1715), AV double louis d'or aux huit L et aux insignes, 1702K, Bordeaux. Flan neuf. D/ T. laurée à d., les cheveux courts. R/ Croix formée de huit L couronnés, brochant sur un sceptre et une main de justice. Dupl-1442; Gad-261. 13,43 g Très rare. Très Beau à Superbe. Provient de notre liste 280, avril-juin 2017, 695. (kingdom of France, Louis XIV, 1643-1715, gold double louis of the eight "L's" and insignia of 1702, Bordeaux mint, new blank. Obverse: laureate head right with short hair; reverse: cross formed of eight "L's" over a scepter and the hand of justice. Very rare, very Fine - Extremely Fine.)"
Dr/4 no. 400, Dr/2 no. 269, 13.50 g, .917 fine gold, 28-31 mm diameter, J. Roettiers, struck 1700-04. 1702-K m. 16,031 fn + unknown rf but common for type, which is rare. TTB 4600.
