This specimen was lot 937 in Jean Elsen sale 137 (Brussels, June 2018), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,252 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, Royaume, François Ier (1515-1547), AV écu d'or au soleil du Dauphiné, s.d. (1515-1517), Grenoble (rosette finale). 2e type. D/ Champ écartelé de France-Dauphiné sous un soleil. Différent: A en fin de légende (Antoine Vagnon). R/ Croix fleurdelisée cantonnée de deux F couronnés. Dupl. 783; Ci. 1083; Laf. 646. 3,38 g. Très Beau à Superbe. (kingdom of France, Francis I, 1515-47, undated gold shield of the sunburst of Dauphiny, Grenoble mint, second type. Obverse: field quartered with dolphins and fleurs-de-lys, "A" privy mark; reverse: floriate cross cantonned with two crowned "F's". Very fine to extremely fine.)"
