This specimen was part of lot 29049 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), which sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pair of Louis XIV 6 Deniers ("Dardennes"), 1) 1710-H VF, La Rochelle mint, KM 400.1, Gad-85. Medium brown. Struck significantly off center with roughness at the right on both sides. 2) 1711-& XF Details (Corrosion) NGC, Aix mint, KM 400.3, Gad-85. Uneven surfaces, giving clear evidence of past corrosion, but now a pleasing chocolate brown. From the Doug Robins Collection of Canadian Tokens."
Dr/4 no. 780, Dr/2 no. 482, 6.12 g, bronze or brass, 23-24.5 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Norbert Roettiers. struck at La Rochelle, Montpellier and Aix only 1710-12. 1710-H m. est. 340,000; 1711-& m. 22,114,000 (135 metric tons).
