This specimen was part of lot 29044 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), which sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pair of Louis XV 2 Sols (Sous Marqués), 1) 1755-A XF, Contemporary Counterfeit, Purported Paris mint, 2nd semester. Vlack 350, i.e., from a different die than the preceeding. Blue-gray toning. Ex. John Ford collection (Stack's Ford XII, Jan. 2006, lot 293). 2) 1758/4-A AU55 NGC, Paris mint, KM500.1, Vlack-39c, R7. 2nd semester (dot under D of LUD). Lightly-struck at the left. Subdued luster. From the Doug Robins Collection of Canadian Tokens."

Gad-281: 2.18 g, .250 fine silver, 22 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by J. C. Roettiers, struck 1738-69. Dr/4 no. 859, Dr/2 no. 595. 1757-A m. 91,300, R2 in Gadoury.
