This specimen was part of lot 29020 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), which sold for $528. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pair of Louis XV 2 Sols (Sous Marqués), 1) 1738-M Fine, Toulouse mint, KM500.13, Vlack-142, R8. Medium-gray, weak legend at the lower right on the reverse. This date was absent from both the Ford and Vlack sales 2) 1739-B AU Details (Scratches) NGC, Rouen mint, KM500.3, Vlack-50. Lustrous and well-struck, but has small areas of scratches on both sides. From the Doug Robins Collection of Canadian Tokens."
Gad-281: 2.18 g, .250 fine silver, 22 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by J. C. Roettiers, struck 1738-69. Dr/4 no. 859, Dr/2 no. 595. 1738-M m. 185,285 (unpriced in Droulers and Gadoury); 1739-B m. 2,462,459, a common date.
