This specimen was part of lot 29019 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), which sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pair of Louis XV 2 Sols (Sous Marqués) 1738-A, 1) AU, Paris mint, KM500.1, Vlack-16. Normal 3 in date. Considerable silvering remains. Struck slightly off center, but all the legends show. 2) AU, Paris mint, KM500.1, Vlack-16 var. Double-punched 3 in date. Some light streaks of verdigris on the reverse. From the Doug Robins Collection of Canadian Tokens."
Gad-281: 2.18 g, .250 fine silver, 22 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by J. C. Roettiers, struck 1738-69. Dr/4 no. 859, Dr/2 no. 595. 1738-A m. 2,770,886.
