This specimen was part of lot 29015 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), which sold for $960. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pair of Louis XV Sols (1/2 Sous Marqués), 1) 1740-T XF, Nantes mint, KM 501.10, Vlack-314. Gray and yellow with a darker area on the rev. A couple of flaws in the edge, probably as made. Ex. Robert Vlack collection (Stack's Vlack, Jan. 2008, lot 5413). 2) 1740-X XF, Amiens mint, KM 501.13, Vlack-318, R7. Pleasing silvery hue, marred only by a couple of narrow strips of roughness, as made. From the Doug Robins Collection of Canadian Tokens."
Gad-278: 1.09 g, .250 fine silver, 18 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by J. C. Roettiers, struck 1739-42, 1746, 1748, with many scarce dates. Dr/4 no. 861, Dr/2 no. 597. 1740-T: m. 42,586; 1740-X m. 32,125; both scarce dates.
