This specimen was lot 2621 in Goldberg sale 91 (Los Angeles, June 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "France. Ecu, 1706-A Choice EF. Dav-1320; KM-360.1; Gad-224. Louis XIV. 8-L type. Bust right. Reverse; Arms of France surrounded by 4 double L's crowned with fleur-de-lys between. Choice Extremely Fine."
Dr/4 no. 518. écu aux 8 L, 2éme type. type struck 1704-09. 1706-D: 536,555, all fn, most common date of 1706.
