This specimen was part of lot 466 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, July 2014), where it sold for $786.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE, Empire. Lot of eight (8) CU and AR Denominations. Lot includes the following denominations:
�(466.6) Second Empire. Napoléon III. 1852-1870. CU 10 Centimes à la tête nue (30mm, 10.18 g, 6h). Paris mint; différents: dog’s head and hand. Jacques-Jean Barre, engraver general. CH.-Louis Dierickx, director. Dated 1854 A. VG 248; KM 771.1. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 65 RB. Gem with very red lustrous underlying surfaces. Great eye appeal.
F.133/10, mintage 13,626,631, second highest mintage date for the type. 30 mm diameter, 10 g, bronze, plain edge. struck 1852-57 at A, B, BB, D, K, MA, W.
