This specimen was lot 383 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $3,025. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE, Royal (Restored). Charles X. 1824-1830. AR 2 Francs (28 mm, 10.10 g, 6h). Lille mint; différents: initials/caduceus. Nicolas-Pierre Tiolier, engraver general. Alexandre Beaussier, director. Dated 1828 W. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 67. Superb gem. Fantastic original multicolored patina over gem surfaces. Only three 2 Franc pieces have ever reached this grade, this the only one of Charles X. Purchased from Frank Lapa."
