This specimen was lot 338 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $2,722.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE, Premier Empire. Napoléon I. 1804-1814. AR Quart franc à la tête de nègre laurée (15 mm, 1.26 g, 6h). Paris mint; différents: signature/rooster. Pierre-Joseph Tiolier, engraver general. Ch.-Pierre de l’Espine, director. Dated 1808 A. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 65. Beautiful toned gem prooflike BU with great color. Another gem and only coin of this date ever graded. Rare. Thought by the collector to be a proof. Purchased from A. G. Van der Dussen, August 1971."

VG 349; KM 678.1, F.161/2. mintage unknown, very rare, all uncirculated.
