This specimen was lot 285 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, July 2014), where it sold for $__. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE, Royal. Louis XV le Bien-Aimé (the Well-Beloved). 1715–1774. AR Demi-écu aux huit L (32mm, 11.8 g, 6h). Paris mint; différents: fox/flower. Georges Röettiers, engraver. Mathieu Renard de Tasta, director. Dated 1725 A. Duplessy 1671; Ciani 2113; KM 478.1. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 64. Superb strike and beautiful obverse even patina in a pale violet blue-green with fully lustrous multicolored reverse. A superb coin. One of only two in this grade. Purchased from Louis Collins, August 1973."
