This specimen was lot 258 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, July 2014), where it sold for $__. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE, Royal. Louis XIV le Roi Soleil (the Sun King). 1643–1715. AR Écu à la mèche courte (39mm, 27.43 g, 6h). Paris mint; différent: pellet. Dated 1645 A. Duplessy 1461; Ciani 1833; KM 144.3. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 63. Deeply toned obverse and lighter toned reverse. Well struck. Only coin with this overdate ever graded and rare this choice. Purchased from A. G. Van der Dussen."
