This specimen was lot 470 in Jean Elsen sale 137 (Brussels, June 2018), where it sold for €800 (about US$1,113 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"VLAANDEREN, Graafschap, Lodewijk van Male (1346-1384), AV gouden gehelmde leeuw (lion d'or heaumé), 1365-1367 en 1370, Gent. Vz/ Zittende gehelmde leeuw n. l. onder een gotisch baldakijn. Daaronder: FLANDRES. Kz/ Versierd gebloemd kruis met in het midden een D en in de hoeken: F-L-A-N. Gaill. 214; Delm. 460; Elsen 28; Martiny, Gent, 38. 5,13 g Restauratie boven de helm. Zeer Fraai. (county of Flanders, Louis de Male, 1346-84, gold lion d'or, issued 1365-67 and 1370, Ghent mint. Obverse: seated and helmeted lion under a Gothic baldachin, "FLANDRES" below; reverse: floriate cross with "D" in the center and "F - L - A - N" in the quarters. Tooling above the helmet, very fine.)"
