This specimen was lot 24221 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $1,762.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Henry VI Restored (1470-71) Groat ND, S-2082, North-1617 (scarce), Tower mint London, Voided Restoration Cross mm on each side, uncertified, Choice XF, sharply struck and well centered on a full flan without cracks, excellent surfaces and charming medieval gray patina. A beautiful example minted during the Wars of the Roses, struck within the period of October 1470 to April 1471 under the "restoration" of Henry VI, who had just been released from imprisonment in the Tower of London. A year later, he was again imprisoned, and this time executed within the Tower's walls. The old Tower Mint where this groat was made was a few steps away."
