This specimen was lot 44123 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $1,110. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1/2 Real, 1841-VU/RU. Popayan Mint. VF-25 (PCGS). cf. KM-96.2; cf. Restrepo-178.9. Restrepo lists 1841-VU as 'rare', but does not mention the overassayer. Honest even wear and dark gray toning. A solid pleasing circulated example of a rare assayer combination, perhaps even more so as an unlisted sub variety. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Freeman Craig auction, May 8, 1984."
