This specimen was lot 42461 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $2,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1868 Peso. Bogotá mint. Restrepo 317.1. AU-53 (PCGS). An unusually nice example of this scarce emission, the first year of this design type. Good cartwheel luster remains on attractive light silver gray surfaces, lightly toned and pleasantly natural in appearance. Some hairlines are present, more on reverse than obverse, and a short old scratch crosses the hair ribbons. An important type coin in this grade. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins."
KM 154.1, 25 g, .900 fine silver, m. 17,000, rare date, type struck 1868-71, also Medellin.
