This specimen was lot 40376 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $3,600. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1826-JF 2 Pesos. Bogotá mint. Restrepo 163.7. EF Detail — Scratch (PCGS). The rarest date in this short series, with just two authentic specimens known to Restrepo. This piece appears to be struck from official dies, with design motifs and striking characteristics that match others of this type. The peripheries show deeper toning than the light yellow gold centers, and some luster survives in protected areas. An ancient X-scratch is hidden left of the reverse fasces. An important piece, as this date was missing from Eliasberg and most other noteworthy collections that included a good range of early Republic material. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Mike Dunigan, June 1981."
